La Clásica Gollo Sol y Arena will take place on May 14th, but there are so many athletes attending this athletics celebration that it's a good idea to start planning now, especially if you're going to stay at a hotel because rooms fill up quickly.

This year, the race organizers made an alliance with two hotels in the area, and runners who stay there will not only be welcomed with a fruit platter and water in their room, but their competition package will also be waiting for them right there (meaning they won't have to pick it up at a store).

They will also receive a 15% discount on accommodation rates and will have a bus that takes them to the race start for free. The two official race hotels are Puerto Azul and Puntarenas Beach.

If you don't stay at one of these hotels, the organizers will also provide you with a continuous shuttle service that will depart from the Empresarios Unidos sector, on Paseo de los Turistas, and will take you to the start (800m east of Hospital Monseñor Sanabria). All you need to board one of these buses is your competitor number properly displayed on your chest, and the buses will be departing from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. continuously.

We also want to let you know that registered athletes will receive discounts of up to 35% at the best restaurants in the area, likewise, with the only requirement of showing your competition bib. Expect more details about the discounts soon. That said, we recommend you register now for the 30th edition of this classic because registrations fill up quickly.
