The second edition of Chepecorre was a huge success. Weeks before, registrations had sold out for the different distances of 5k, 10k, and half marathon, and in the end a total of 2227 athletes crossed the finish line officially.

The half marathon was the most popular distance with 1005 total finishers. 57% of those who completed the 21k were men, who once again dominated the long distance. But already at 10k the women turned things around and made up 51% of the total finishers. At 5k they dominated even more, as 61% of the 658 finishers in the short distance were women.

Men, however, were faster than women; on average it took them 1:52:04 to cross the half marathon finish line compared to 2:06:41 that it took women. The overall average time for the 21k was 1:58:24 and Vanessa Arguedas was the lucky one who split the field right down the middle with her time of 1:57:48. If you beat Vanessa you're in the top 50%, if you finished behind her you're in the 50% that takes longer to enjoy the race.

In the 10k (9.5 according to our measurement) the average time for men was 59:15, more than seven minutes better than the 1:06:38 it took women on average. Overall the average was 1:03:01 and Marcela Maroto and Alberto Johanning split the field right down the middle with their final time of 1:00:43.

We didn't include the total times and averages for the 5k because many registered for 10k and 21k who didn't complete some checkpoint were moved in the results to this distance, which skews the data (according to the results someone who was 29 years old took 2:25:22 to complete 5k...).
